The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (instructor led), is intended for all lawful individuals regardless of shooting experience. This course is 8 hours long and will take place in a classroom and outdoor range environment.
Topics include: gun safety, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, pistol selection, ammunition knowledge and selection, shooting fundamentals and range safety. Students will complete shooting qualifications while at the range with an NRA certified instructor.
Please, no live ammunition in the classroom. Each student should bring your own firearm along with 200 rounds of ammunition. The NRA requires iron sighted pistols during the qualification portion of the class, no red dots.
If you need to rent a firearm, cost is $35 for firearm and ammunition. Please let the instructor know in advance. Call or email ahead of registration with any questions.
Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate.
